From his accidentally inviting two women to the office's charity Casino Night, to his truly bizarre lightstick-waving introduction to the Casino Night guests, Steve Carrell was at his embarrassed (and embarrassing) best. In other storylines during the episode, we saw some great, cringe-inducing awkward moments courtesy of Michael Scott. John Krasinski (as Jim Halpert) and Jenna Fischer (as Pam Beesley) both turned in amazing performances, expertly showing two people who sincerely enjoy each other's company, with an engagement standing in the way. Everything was pitch-perfect - from the wording Jim used, to Pam's reaction, and even the cameraman jiggling the camera in shock as the scene unfolds before him. Jim declaring his love to Pam in the parking lot in "Casino Night" was wonderfully written, directed, and acted. Their friendship-that-could-be-more has been the center of the series since its beginning, and this season continually built up, from Pam & Roy setting a date for their wedding (in the episode "Booze Cruise") to Jim applying for a location transfer (in the previous episode, "Conflict Resolution"). The episode's main storyline, and the climax of the episode and season, was that of Pam and Jim.
